Greetings Everyone:

Unfortunately we again have some unwelcome news. As I’m sure you know York Region has entered the Grey or “locked down” stage as of Monday, December 14. This means that the A.S.A. will have to close its doors once again for a minimum of 28 days. That will bring us to January 10th.

Not all is lost though. Senior Centres Without Walls will continue as well as the virtual programs that are already running.

It is certainly a shame that we won’t be able to see our A.S.A. friends over the Holidays and participate in all the festive fun we usually plan for this time of the year. In trying to look at the bright side I remind myself that the Centre is closed for several days over Christmas and New Years anyway. Perhaps by mid January things will be a little better and we can at least get out of this full lockdown.

In the meantime I repeat that it is so important to keep in touch with family and friends even if it’s just virtually. Let‘s not lose the true spirit of this wonderful time of the year. To quote an old saying, “This to shall pass”.

Through our Reopening Committee we will continue to introduce new programs and activities when we are allowed to open again. We’ll keep you updated through the website, newsletter and e-flashes.

I’d like to take this time to wish all our A.S.A. friends the very best wishes for a happy holiday season and hopefully a safe, happy and healthy New Year in 2021!

Sincerely , Dave LeGallais
